Sunday’s BET Awards 17 did not disappoint during any moment, from the glamorous pre-show red carpet to the exciting live telecast held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Saturday Night Live star Leslie Jones was killin’ it as the hilarious hostess of the beautiful evening that celebrated African-American accomplishments in entertainment and sports.
If there were three key details found in most of the sexy ensembles this evening, these included thigh-high slits, lots of sparkle in sequins, and feminine ruffles. Yes, some serious style was going down out in L.A.
Dascha Polanco looked cool and crisp in an all white pantsuit with a huge ruffle adorning her right shoulder. The Orange Is the New Black star wore her hair side-parted and pulled back. Her jewelry was gold, delicate and minimal.
Yara Shahidi lit up the room with her stunning smile and presence. The young actress plays Zoey on the sitcom Black-ish. She arrived at the BET red carpet in a denim sundress with awesome destroyed details and ruffles about the decollete, Jimmy Choos and huge gold hoops.
Reality TV star Tamar Braxton wore perhaps one of the loveliest gowns of the night. Her gorgeous curves were flattered by a white lace halter-style gown with major sequins. Best of all, she wore a striking platinum bob with bangs and turned many heads.
It was a pink feathered mini for petite actress Logan Browning, and her playful pink eyeshadow matched perfectly.
Actress and producer “La La” Anthony arrived on the red carpet with her cutie-pie son Kiyan Carmelo Anthony. “La La” looked luscious in a burgundy curve-hugging gown that fell softly off one shoulder and sparkled in gold sequins.
The always fashionable Solange Knowles picked up a BET award and wowed the crowd in a sleeveless black jumpsuit with a sleek white peplum border.
Mary J. Blige performed in a knock-out silver sequin head-to-toe sexy number.
Jada Pinkett Smith, one of the fittest ladies in Hollywood, strolled the red carpet in an exquisite gold-colored gown that plunged at every angle.
Oh, yeah, and the men at the BET Awards were smokin’ hot, too. Nick Cannon, Trevor Jackson, Maxwell, Bruno Mars, Chiké Okonkwo, and Chance the Rapper, among others, all looked dapper and handsome.
