The “Black Panther: Welcome to Wakanda” fashion show was held Monday evening at Industria Superstudio in New York City. The exciting 2-hour event was presented as a highlight of New York Fashion Week and featured ten outstanding designers. Some of the fabulous style icons who showed off their talent for the runway show included Chromat, Laquan Smith, Tome, Cushnie et Ochs, Fear of God and Ikiré Jones.
The 10 designers created striking, one-of-a-kind pieces inspired by different characters from the film. Bespoke pieces were being auctioned off for the Save the Children organization. The well-regarded charity protects the rights of children, provides relief and helps support children in developing countries.
Lupita Nyong’o lit up the red carpet Monday night in a gorgeous, red peplum number. She posed with Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs and wore a bold gold necklace.
