Everyone remembers the photo of a hiker and Hillary Clinton crossing paths on a hiking trail just days after her devastating loss to President-elect Donald Trump. The image shows hiker Margot Gerster and her daughter posing with Clinton, telling her friends on Facebook, “She hugged me and thanked me and we exchanged some sweet pleasantries, and then I let them continue their walk. Now, I’m not one for signs, but I think I’ll take this one.”Outside of that random public appearance, little is known about what Hillary has been doing since the whirlwind of the 2016 presidential elections ended.
The news did break about a month after the elections that the Clintons would be holding their extravagant yearly holiday party, including high profile attendees such as Vera Wang and Tory Burch. One guest who attended the party at the posh Plaza Hotel told the press that the event was “like a wake with a band.”With scarce public appearances and a hint that the Democratic Nominee is still licking her wounds after defeat, it appears that Clinton is trying to come to terms with her loss and future of America. On the other hand, Clinton spent an entire year focused on winning the election, following a strict and hectic schedule, and putting her life on hold during the campaign.
So that begs the question, is Clinton still sore about the loss or is she trying to spend some long overdue quality time with her family during the holidays like millions of other Americans during this time of year? One can speculate how Clinton is coping with the loss, but one thing we can be sure of is that she is no stranger to taking a hit and getting right back up on her feet for another day. Clinton may be MIA at the moment, but we have not seen the last of this powerful woman.
